No, its not good for them. Hell, its not good for adults, why do that to children and start them early. i give my children mostly water, they get some juices every now and then, mostly when we go out but at home...its water. most doctors and nutritionists will tell you its not the thing to give kids because of the sugar content and of course the habit your forming can create diabetes.

Yes, a very bad habit to get into. I would love to break that habit for me and the rest of the kids.

Just a sip now and then. I can't stand people that allow their kids to drink soda. I drink it like it's going out of style, but I don't run around screaming and bouncing off the walls.

I never allowed our son to drink softdrinks and in fact he was about 18 months before he had sugar in anything at all. It never harmed him not to have softdrinks. :)
thanks for the payment. by oldgirl

Answer is no, and you should never. Why? Because softdrinks has decaying agents, and with toddlers having milk teeth and still under developed and weak gums, this will deterioriate their teeth at a faster rate.

Trust me, eventhough the milk teeth are temporary, but they still need it until a certain age (around their teens when all their permanent teeth comes out). Also, they need strong gums to prepare for this.

I don't allow my toddlers to have softdrink because I believe they're not ready and they should wait until they are really ready for it. It's too much for them. They're already hyper at a young age. I don't want to boost it up even more. Know what I mean?

Maybe just the couple drops left in the can if she grabs it before I wash it out. But I would never purposefully give her that much sugar, and definately not caffeine. That's just crazy!

I have a 4 and 6-year-old and I've never let them take a sip of soda. I refuse to do that. I even try to find reduced-sugar fruit juice both for their teeth and so they aren't hyper throughout the day.
