"Cogito ergo sum." -- Rene Descartes, Meditations on First Philosophy

Not only is it a famous quotation (it means "I think, therefore I am," but it's one of the few philosophical concepts which cannot be refuted. Everything is doubtable except that I exist in some form, because something must exist to think the thoughts I think--the belief that only one's own existence can be proven is called solipsism; although one can have a larger worldview, nothing can disprove or preclude it. It is interesting that Descartes was trying to prove the existence of God when he wrote those words--he failed, but found a valuable truth anyway.

All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely Players;
