I was going to say the same thing as Max. My dog loves me no matter what. If I am having a bad day, he seems to know it and makes it better...my husband and kids can't seem to do that. He is always willing to cuddle or play ball or just go for a ride if that's what I want.

I respect dogs. They honour us with their friendship, and I respect them for it. I like individual dogs. For example, within my family there is a lovely black labrador.

Yes and we have one very old dog. She is very loyal and trusting of those she knows well, but even though her master has been away a lot over the past few years, when he returns home, it is to him that she turns for affection.
We look after her all the time, feed her etc but when he returns, we are ignored in favour of him. Now that is loyalty that is only found in dogs. :)
