I read somewhere that no one should eat anything after 6 pm. The minimal activity that goes on in the evening hours isn't enough to burn off the food you just ate. Eating before 6 pm is a good habit to not only get your kids into, but for yourself as well. If your children spend their entire youth eating dinner at 5:30 pm every night, they will most likely carry that routine over to their adult life, keeping them more fit.
