I smoke, in Bribane at the moment you can be fined for smoking at pubs, clubs, near playgrounds, near schools, on railway stations. I do think it's a good idea but its making it harder for me to enjoy having a ciggerette

No because if you're sitting next to non-smokers it's not fair on them, and it's not fair on the staff who work in pubs etc to have to work in an unhealthy atmosphere.

If it is not against the law then I am not going to stop them. I do however appreciate when someone will ask if it is okay to light up. I also appreciate it when they try to do it away from non smokers.

well, it depends on the type of place.. a bar, I would say yes..
I dont smoke and I feel u need to have a little respect for those that dont. if your at a restaurant or someplace where u will be real close to other people I think u should have respect and maybe step outside or something.. but I feel like certain places its ok. as I said, like bars and places like that..

If the public area is a park I think it's not really dangerous because the smoke moves along.. I think the passive smoke is dangerous in a enclosed space.

I've certainly never thought so. I have asthma, and smoke bothers my breathing a lot. I've always considered it a bit unfair that I have to be miserable when I'm somewhere I want to enjoy just because of this nasty habit other people have chosen to partake in.
